Tennis Programs
Play tennis the professional way through one of our two programs. Each program includes 24-hour pastoral care from staff, creating a very safe environment.
NIKE’s English Language and Tennis Camp goes beyond delivering outstanding tennis coaching and an accelerated model of English learning. They also provide a unique opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and create lasting memories 🙂
Players will benefit from the highly experienced coaching staff. This sports camp’s coaches use demonstration, practice and feedback – including video analysis – to improve existing shots and techniques and to develop new ones.
Tennis Director
Gill Lemore has directed Nike Tennis Camps in the UK for 9 years, working with a select team of coaches and high-performance players. An unforgettable character, Gill brings energy, charisma and determination to every tennis camp. He knows how to get the best from every player and coach! Gill obtained the USPTA (U.S. Professional Tennis Association) certificate, as well as the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) France qualification. In addition he is a Level 4 performance coach.
Program 1: TENNIS & ENGLISH (ages: 10-17)
This program is for 10 to 17 year olds of all English language levels. Players joining the camp from across the globe will be coached in English, have lessons in English and make great new friends…in English!
Students will work in groups on exciting projects to enhance their learning and keep them fully engaged throughout the two weeks such as creating a camp magazine and conducting interviews with their coaches. Players get to explore the history of tennis and everything England has to offer on a range of excursions to top tennis attractions and UK tourist destinations.
The course covers 16 hours of tennis coaching and 13-14 hours of classroom-based English per week. The main advantage is a curriculum taught by native English language teachers, following the CLIL teaching method, with sports and tennis themed lessons and activities.
All teaching material is included in the price, and is for students to take home upon program completion. There is also a proficiency certificate along with a long term goal plan for further language development. Each player receives a Development Plan for bettering tennis skills, devised after a personal assessment session with the coaching director.

Program 2: TOTAL TENNIS (ages: 10-17; sports camp for active players)
Total Tennis camp is perfect for 10 to 17 year olds who play regularly either at school or in a professional Tennis Club. Its focus is predominantly on tennis skills, with 34 hours of training and matchplay per week. As such, it is vital to have a good level of fitness. Level of tennis needed is intermediate or advances. Speakers of English of all levels are welcome.
Training facility has all 4 Grand Slam surfaces. Students will experience life as a professional player while building confidence, independence and forging new lifelong friendships. The program was devised by former ATP and ITF professionals, giving players the right advice on how to move up to the next level. Seminars will cover topics such as nutrition, match analysis, fitness and tactics.
Players are assessed and coaches help them improve existing tennis skills, as well as develop and practice new ones. Each individual will learn about court position and movement, as well as analyzing shots and knowing how and when to play them.
Included in TOTAL TENNIS:
- Up to 30 hours a week of tennis coaching, games and workshops
- Low ratio of 1 coach to 6 players maximum
- On-site accommodation

The Nike tennis camps are supervised and run by renowned, experienced and internationally certified tennis experts. As soon as the student arrives at the camp, he or she is under 24/7 staff supervision until the moment he/she leaves to return home. Please review Useful Parent Information.

NIKE tennis academies are held at two locations:
Radley College offers advanced players a fun but challenging training program simulating an elite tennis environment.
Developing players at Bradfield College improve their game with demonstration, practice and feedback. Players are assessed and grouped by ability on the first day so coaches can customize the training program to maximize individual skills progression.
Radley College
Level: High-performance camp
High performance program at a leading private school with brand-new tennis facilities.
Founded in 1847, Radley College is an historic British private school set in over 800 acres of self-contained grounds in the idyllic English countryside near Oxford. The school has 8 brand-new competition-standard poraflex® acrylic courts located in the heart of the campus. Grass courts nearby provide a different surface to challenge players to adapt technique.
This high-performance program, designed by former tournament professionals, aims to take players to the next level in an inspirational setting. These camps are suitable for those who play regularly at school or club level and are not suitable for beginners.
Accommodation and catering at Radley College
Young players stay in boarding houses around the main school buildings. At Radley, most bedrooms are single occupancy with shared bathrooms.
The accommodation is on a full board basis, with 3 meals a day (vegetarian option included), and an evening snack. Students have access to free Wi-Fi, lounge room with TV, table tennis, foosball table and games console. There are laundry and sports facilities as well as an on-site camp shop.

Bradfield College
Bradfield College is a top private school west of London with excellent tennis facilities.
Level: All tennis abilities
Bradfield College has an excellent reputation amongst English private schools for its impressive sports facilities and prime location in the Berkshire countryside near Reading. It’s just an hour from central London.
The school has its own indoor tennis center as well as extensive outdoor courts, a 9-hole golf course and Golf Performance Studio with the latest Trackman 4 technology. Alongside fantastic sports facilities, there is a grand dining hall in the main school building as well as modern classroom facilities, acres of grounds and sports pitches and a 25-meter swimming pool.
Accommodation and catering at Bradfield College
Mostly single rooms with some twin rooms and shared bathroom facilities. The accommodation is on a full board basis, with 3 meals a day (vegetarian option included), and an evening snack. Students have access to free Wi-Fi, lounge room with TV, table tennis, foosball table and games console. There are laundry and sports facilities as well as an on-site camp shop. Players can go swimming, play in the sports hall, both on grass and hard courts.

Excursions
After a hard week’s work, everyone deserves a break. The staff at NIKE camps have created a social program which includes everyone’s favorite destinations, such as London, Wimbledon, Oxford… Here are just some of the planned weekend activities which you can expect to take part in during you stay with NIKE.
“Real Tennis” experience is an opportunity to play tennis either on the oldest court in use in the world, built with King Henry VIII in mind, or at Radley College, a fine private school, or at Petworth House, an idyllic setting comprised of a country house and its surrounding gardens.
Players can experience the charms of Wimbledon, every tennis lover’s dream, in an exclusive tour around it. It has been an inspiring place for all prospective players ever since its foundation in 1868. (During the Championships 27th June-10th July, the site is closed to visitors. Excursion is replaced by a day trip to Thorpe Park, the top amusement Park in England).
A visit to the capital is a must for any tourist, and so a walking tour of London is planned for the day. All the famous landmarks are on the list, so after seeing the Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square, there is a special visit to the famous Niketown on Oxford Street.

For airport transfers to or from any airport and camp venue:
- Arrival Transfers: 09:00 – 16:00 on Mondays
- Departure Transfers: 11:00 – 18:00 Sundays
In the unlikely event that you are unable to arrange flights during these hours please email booking@prodirekt.net and we may be able to arrange an out-of-hours transfer for an additional charge. Please note that the tennis school cannot accommodate out-of-hours transfers where players arrive at the camp after 11:00pm or need to leave the camp before 7:00am.
Unaccompanied Minor Service
We recommend using an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) or Airport Assistance service if your child is under 14 years old or is an inexperienced traveler. This service provides an airline staff member to supervise and escort your child during their flight and in the parts of the airport that are not accessible to our staff. Most airlines offer this service and some require you to use this service for children under a certain age so please check with the airline and pay applicable fees for both your inbound and outbound journey.

Air travel can be booked through one of the travel agencies who are in partnership with the Verbalists Language Network.
Places on this prestigious program are limited and get booked up quickly, so we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.
