06-JAN-2022 | The UK government has just announced that from 04h00 on Friday, 7th January, 2022, fully vaccinated students and all children aged 17 and under (regardless of their vaccination status) will have a more affordable and straightforward entry to the UK. They will no longer need to test before boarding their flights, and they will no longer required to self-isolate when they arrive in England.

Additionally, from January 9, 2022, fully vaccinated students can opt for a cheaper lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on day two. Tests must be booked before travelling to England.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have confirmed similar arrangements.

Since PCR tests will no longer be a requirement, travelers to England are set to save about 70 pounds.

Restrictions remaining in place:

1. Travelers must complete a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) no more than 48 hours before they travel to the UK.

2. Travelers must take a Day 2 lateral flow test (on or before their second day in the UK).

Unvaccinated passengers, or those failing to meet the eligibility criteria, must continue to take a pre-departure test, a PCR test by day two and day eight and self-isolate for 10 days.
