Experiencing the Summer School in Malta – visits to Mdina, Mosta Dome and Rabat by night

Experiencing the Summer School in Malta, Verbalists

01-AUG-2022 | Summer School in Malta: Going abroad to learn English is a unique experience and there’s more to taking an English course than just lessons. There is a general saying “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand,” well, that’s why we always make sure that our students, especially young learners, attend fun language learning programs, filled with the diverse social activities. The Summer School in Malta is one of those programs.

The Vacation English Plus Course of the Summer School in Malta is famous for its exciting activities and excursions that help young learners make the most of the sun, sea and culture.

This popular program offers countless opportunities to learn English outside of the classroom. One favorite social activity for our students is a guided tour to Mdina and Rabat – by night. Perhaps, the delicious cakes and ice creams at Fontanella have something to do with that, too. 🙂

Mdina is a fortified medieval town, located on a large hill in the center of Malta. It used to be the capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, architecture, many palaces, few inhabitants and beautiful views over the Island, it is truly a magical town. It is also called the ‘Silent City’ because of its quiet streets and strict vehicle restrictions (only 250 people live here)…entering Mdina is like stepping back in time.

Although Mdina is a silent city, there is one beautiful cafe hidden in that city wall. Fontanella Tea Garden is just a few minutes’ walk from the city gate, situated at the end of the wall overlooking the view of the island of Malta from the bastion. From here we were able to see practically half of the island sparkling in front of our eyes. Apart from the magnificent views, Fontanella is also famous for its amazing, homemade cakes – a visit here is our absolute must whenever we go to Mdina!
