School
GLS (German Language School) was established in 1983 and is accredited by the Berlin Senate, the Swedish Ministry of Education, as well as international associations such as ALTO, EAQUALS, and IALC. It has been named the best language school in Germany three times by LTM Language Travel Magazine – in 2008, 2010, and 2012. The school has also received numerous other prestigious awards and is considered one of the best in Europe.
GLS is the only school in Germany with a prestigious 9,000 square meter campus. In 2015, it expanded its facilities for the Berlin Intensive program and now offers classes in the West Berlin area, just 20 minutes away from the city center.

Program
This popular summer school for German is aimed at high school students aged 14 to 17 and includes 20 or 25 hours of instruction per week. Each class lasts 45 minutes, and there are a maximum of 12 students per group. The courses cater to participants of all language proficiency levels, from absolute beginners to advanced.
Activities
Each day includes two extracurricular activities, with one full-day excursion planned each week. All activities are supervised by experienced staff from GLS.
We’ll compete in table tennis, badminton, or claim the best spots on the boat that cruises around the Museum Island. While relaxing by the nearby lake, we’ll have a chance to review photos in front of the Berlin Wall and Brandenburg Gate. Then, our competitive spirit reignites as we engage in various sports activities. Of course, no fun is complete without a barbecue and a party, which are great opportunities to strengthen friendships or win the heart of a crush. We leave Berlin richer in knowledge and new friendships, contemplating a return next year.
Accommodation
A unique feature of this program is that all participants are accommodated on the campus where classes are held.
The campus is located in West Berlin, near the Olympic Stadium, and is well-connected to the city center, just a 20-minute ride by public transport. Students stay in double rooms with private bathrooms. The campus also features a cafeteria with a terrace, outdoor sports facilities, and an indoor sports hall. Accommodation is provided on a full board basis.
Pricing and Program Dates
The Berlin Westend Summer School program runs from July 21 to August 11. Participants can choose the number of weeks within this timeframe.
Classes begin on Mondays, and check-in and check-out of accommodation take place on Sundays.
The GLS school staff takes care of the camp participants 24/7, so there is no need for additional group chaperones.

The price does not include:
- Registration fee of €50
- Airfare with associated taxes
- Airport transfers (€90 per one-way shared transfer for arrivals and departures on Sundays between 8:00 and 22:00). Note: For airport transfers outside regular hours, an additional €50 per one-way transfer should be added.
- Local transportation in Berlin (approximately €80/100 for 2-4 weeks)
Extra night stay: €110
Unaccompanied minor service – for children under 12, this service is mandatory and involves supervision by airport and school staff. For children aged 12 and older, this service is optional. The school charges €80 for this service, while airlines typically charge €50 per flight.
