Vienna – City of German Language
Vienna city walks, lectures about Austrian art and culture, Viennese waltz courses, sports and many more activities are included in the price.
Excursions on weekends: we visit Salzburg, the Wachau region, Budapest, Lake Neusiedl and many other destinations at cost price!
The German you will learn in Vienna is “Hochdeutsch”, which is the language’s standard form and spoken throughout the German speaking world. The German spoken in Austria is melodious and spoken at a steady and even pace which is often helpful to those learning German. Courses

Standard German Course
You have four lessons every morning or afternoon from Monday to Friday.
Classes are held in groups of an average of 8 and a maximum of 12 participants.
The main emphasis is placed on improving your general German and your communication skills. Lessons in grammar and conversation help you with syntax and vocabulary building.
In multinational groups you will learn a lot about foreign cultures.
There is sufficient free time for self-study, sightseeing or relaxing.

You practice formal and informal letter writing, and work on listening and reading comprehension.
Each group is taught by two teachers per day in order to ensure more varied and stimulating instruction. Hence, participants are made familiar with different individual styles of teaching, teacher personalities and variations in pronunciation of modern German.
5 lessons (2-3 times) per week of cultural and leisure program included: i.e., Vienna guided tours; talks and videos about Austrian music, art, history, literature and architecture; Viennese waltz course; parties; sports.

Intensive German Course
In multinational groups you will learn a lot about foreign cultures.
You study six lessons a day. Four of these lessons are held in groups of an average of 8 and a maximum of 12 participants and two lessons a day are in small groups of 5-8 participants.
You study for six lessons every morning or afternoon from Monday to Friday.

Suitable for anybody wanting to make rapid progress in short time.
Like in the Standard Course, the main emphasis is placed on improving your general German and your communication skills. In the additional two lessons in small groups, the teacher can focus especially on your individual needs and weak points.

Business German
The combination of a Standard Course and Business German enables you to learn what you need for your job. A minimum B1 level of German is required to attend the course.
Course time schedule: Standard Course: 09:00–12:15 am or 02:15–05:30 pm
Business German: 12:30–02:00 pm or 05:45–07:15 pm

Teacher Training: German Language Course for Non-Native Teachers
This specialized program is tailored for non-native German language teachers who want to improve their German proficiency and teaching skills. Over the course of two weeks, participants will engage in 20 lessons per week focusing on teacher training and an additional 5 hours dedicated to exploring German culture and traditions.
The course provides an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and teaching methods with fellow educators and the school’s teaching staff. You will also gain up-to-date insights into the Austrian and German language, culture, and literature, along with practical suggestions and fresh ideas to implement in your teaching upon returning home.
Program Requirements
To join, participants must have at least a B2 level of German.

Activities
As part of the course, the school organizes activities two to three times a week in the afternoons and evenings. The goal of these activities is not only entertainment but also an opportunity to test your knowledge of the German language through socializing. During these gatherings, you learn to dance the Viennese waltz, participate in themed tours of Vienna, enjoy parties, and attend lectures on Austrian music, art, and history.
Accommodation
A relaxed atmosphere is conducive to learning and speaking German! The school organizes accommodations such as apartments and rooms at carefully selected Austrian host families, basic student apartments, or international student houses. Accommodation standards are regularly checked by the school to ensure that you enjoy your time living in Vienna!
Homestay
Accommodation in a host family is definitely the best way to practice your German and get to know Austria and its people outside the classroom. You stay with a host family in their own home. Host families can be childless couples, parents with schoolchildren, or older people whose grown-up children have already left home.
You share the bathroom and the kitchen with your hosts. The price table below shows the cost of homestay without meals; however, optional meals are available – breakfast costs 72 euros per week, while half-board (breakfast and dinner) costs 177 euros per week.
ActiLingua Penthouse
Enjoy your stay in a newly constructed Penthouse, shared with fellow ActiLingua students. This bright and stylish space is an ideal home, especially for highly motivated German learners planning an extended stay.
Opt for a standard single room or Penthouse deluxe single room with a private balcony to unwind after your German classes. Shared amenities include an open kitchen, spacious living area, a balcony, and two bathrooms with your flatmates. Additional facilities, such as a fitness room, a music room with a piano, and an event room, are available for all guests.
A tram stop conveniently located across the street ensures a smooth commute to the school in approximately 30 minutes.
Student House (Jul-Aug)
This accommodation is available only during the summer. Students have their own single or twin room in a modern, urban, and conveniently located Student House with a delightful in-house restaurant. The school and city center are easily accessible within 20-30 minutes by public transport.
You may choose to include meals: breakfast is priced at 72 euros per week, while half-board (including breakfast and dinner) costs 177 euros per week.
In the price list below, the prices for a double room are indicated for a stay based on accommodation only. The surcharge for a single room is 80€ per week.
The Social Hub
Staying in this modern and vibrant hotel, The Social Hub, will undoubtedly spark joy and immerse you in the youthful and lively energy of Vienna. You reside under one roof with students from ActiLingua and the University of Vienna in your own studio apartment (17-31 m²).
Each studio apartment features a spacious and comfortable bed, a desk, air-conditioning, and complimentary Wi-Fi. You have your private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette or access to a shared kitchen. Community spaces like a fitness room are available, and city bikes can be borrowed throughout your entire stay.
B&B Hotel
The B&B Hotel is modern, urban, and centrally located, just a 15-minute public transport ride from the school. It offers a lively, international atmosphere, creating an ideal setting for students to connect and experience Vienna.
The rooms are air-conditioned, cleaned every third day, and come with towels. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and breakfast is included daily.
Special roommate requests are accommodated, and we aim to pair students of similar ages and different nationalities for a more enriching experience.
Lunch and dinner are not included, but students can enjoy discounts at nearby partner restaurants with their ActiLingua card.
Upon arrival, a deposit of €100 is payable by the participant. This amount is refunded on the last day of the program if no damage has occurred.

Prices and Dates
Participants of ActiLingua’s German courses usually arrive on Sunday and depart on Saturday. Other dates for arrival are possible upon request.
