Berkshire College
Established in the 11th century, Berkshire College seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. Situated in the picturesque English countryside, it is strategically located just 40 minutes outside of London, providing a perfect combination of tranquility and accessibility. The college is also in close proximity to the neighboring town of Maidenhead, enriching the overall experience for our young learners with its charming hills and the serene River Thames. This modern town, rooted in history, offers opportunities for shopping, sports, and relaxation by the Thames.
Berkshire College’s summer camp is housed in a beautiful historic mansion, featuring modern classrooms, spacious common rooms, and a conveniently located canteen just steps away from the accommodation court.
The students’ bedrooms are located in four boarding houses close to the main premises.
For sports enthusiasts, the college provides extensive facilities, including a large sports hall, tennis court, and football and rugby fields.

Program
The school takes pride in giving their full attention to crafting and delivering the best English language programs, specifically created for young learners.
Each student will receive 15 hours of English tuition per week divided over 5 mornings or afternoons. Each daily session consists of 4 lesson periods of 45 minutes plus a 30-minute allowance for breaks.
Students are given placement tests and exit tests to assess their progression. All course content is carefully crafted by educational specialists for the Ardmore program.
Additionally, students receive textbooks and accompanying materials as part of the package, and upon successfully completing the course, they are awarded a certificate indicating their language proficiency level.
Student Welfare & Safety
Ardmore stands out in education by exclusively focusing on young learners. Unlike others, they don’t treat young learners as just another aspect of their business. Courses are designed with a focus on the well-being, teaching methods, and activities that best suit juniors.
Verbalists are acknowledged for making language learning enjoyable and engaging, especially for the youngest learners. The programs are captivating with both educational content and the promise of excitement and fun each year. However, prioritizing safety and support, especially for minors studying abroad, remains crucial. Depending on the program type and enrollment, specific groups may have an experienced Verbalists group leader for additional care and supervision during their stay abroad.
Activities and Free Time
Explore a diverse range of activities on the Berkshire campus! Embrace the English spirit with sports such as football, tennis, and basketball, or opt for the campus’s open-air activity center. Engage in creative pursuits like dancing, do-it-yourself projects, handicrafts, and art workshops. Cap off the day with film sessions, disco nights, talent shows, trivia, or thrilling sports tournaments, all while creating lasting memories with new friends!
Every week includes half-day trips (on Tuesdays or Thursdays) and full-day excursions (on Saturdays). On Sundays, there’s an opportunity to explore the picturesque Berkshire region or visit again cities like London or Oxford (additional cost may apply).
Accommodation and Meals
Students usually stay in the residence next to the school in rooms with two, three, or four beds, often with a sink, and shared bathrooms. Living with fellow participants offers the opportunity to meet young people from around the world, fostering the development of strong friendships.
Meals, provided on a full board basis, are served at the school cafeteria. During excursions, students receive a packed lunch.
Laundry machines are accessible for approximately £3.00 per wash.
Program Dates and Pricing
The program is tailored for young learners aged 8-17 and is conducted both individually and with a group leader.
Arrivals and departures from accommodation are on Sundays.
The summer camp commences on June 28 and concludes on August 30, with a minimum stay requirement of 2 weeks.
⚠️ The program is available for both individual and group language travel. The prices displayed in the table apply to individual bookings. Prices for programs that involve additional care and assistance from our group leader (group bookings) are quoted separately and include a group leader service fee.
It’s essential to highlight that all partner schools for young learner summer programs already offer 24-hour supervision and care. While the presence of a Verbalists group leader can enhance the overall experience, it is not mandatory, given the existing comprehensive supervision provided by our partner schools.
The prices shown in the table do not include the cost of an airline ticket/group travel, and the airline ticket is purchased later, after the college confirms the enrollment of students and issues visa documents (if required).

What’s included in the program?
- Group leader service (only for programs that include a Verbalists group leader, and this service is in addition to the 24-hour care provided by the school staff)

- Entry and exit test, with Ardmore workbooks to use and retain, plus an end of course certificate
- 1 half-day and 1 full-day excursions per week

The price does not include
Registration fee £50, costs of obtaining a UK visa, payable directly to the British embassy, airfare and associated airport taxes, transfers, and travel insurance.
IMPORTANT NOTE for the summer school with a group leader: The participant purchases an airline ticket through the travel agency engaged by the company PRODIREKT. In that case, the travel costs, in addition to the airfare, include the expenses of organized group travel and round-trip airport transfers.
The price of the airline ticket that the participant pays largely depends on when the participant made the purchase, so we recommend early enrollment in the program.
