Florence
Florence is where history and modern life meet in the most captivating way. As the birthplace of the Italian language, it is a city that speaks through its buildings, streets, and people. With its majestic cathedrals, stunning art collections, and charming squares, Florence is not just a city to visit – it’s a place to experience and understand Italian culture in all its glory.

When we walk through the historic center, we are not just walking through a city; with the La Mia FIRENZE program, we’ll be strolling through time. From the spectacular Cathedral to the golden Ponte Vecchio, every corner offers a new story and a new piece of history waiting to be explored. Together, we’ll take you beyond the tourist sites to discover the real Florence – the hidden spots locals love, the quiet cafes, and the authentic markets where life unfolds before your eyes.
School
The La Mia FIRENZE program is hosted at Linguaviva, one of Italy’s leading language schools, nestled in the heart of Florence. Established in 1976, Linguaviva has been a pioneer in teaching Italian to international students through immersion and cultural exchange.

With additional campuses in Milan and Lignano, Linguaviva offers a variety of language courses across some of Italy’s most iconic locations. Its Florence campus is housed in a charming 19th-century building, perfectly situated for students to explore the city’s rich history and culture outside of class.
We chose Linguaviva because it shares our belief in the power of immersion. From day one, you’ll speak only Italian – an approach that accelerates learning and helps you begin thinking in the language. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some knowledge of Italian, Linguaviva offers tailored courses for all levels.
The teachers are native speakers who infuse every lesson with their passion for the Italian language, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Their enthusiasm makes learning feel natural and exciting.
Accredited by ASILS (the Association of Schools of Italian as a Second Language) and authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Linguaviva is a leading institution in Italian language education. It also serves as an official examination center for the CILS certification from the Università per Stranieri di Siena and the PLIDA certification from the Società Dante Alighieri.
Linguaviva has been recognized five times with the ST Super Star Italian School title, a testament to its outstanding language programs in Italy.
Program
Age: 16-25
The La Mia FIRENZE program offers the perfect balance of classroom learning and cultural exploration. Running from July 12th to July 26th, this two-week program includes 20 lessons per week, held Monday through Friday. Afternoons are reserved for sightseeing, relaxation, and fun activities.
The focus is on everyday communication, so that students can gain practical language skills they can use right away.
Linguaviva’s teaching method is designed to make Italian feel accessible, and every day you’ll feel more confident in your ability to speak and understand the language. By the end of the program, you’ll not only have improved your Italian but will have experienced a piece of Italy that goes beyond what’s in the guidebooks.
The study plans offer standard Italian courses for all levels of the Common European Framework: A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1. Students with prior knowledge of Italian will take a written and oral placement test to assess their proficiency and ensure they are placed in the appropriate group. If you’re an absolute beginner, you’ll be enrolled in the A1 level.
Throughout the course, students will use a textbook available for purchase at the school. Additionally, teachers will provide supplementary materials to enhance the lessons.
At the end of the course, students receive a certificate reflecting their progress and the level of Italian they have achieved.
