As part of this program, participants will explore Milan’s rich design heritage through curated visits to design studios, museums, and exhibitions. Sportech Academy, the program organizer, is an accredited Italian institution specializing in K-12 education. Its founders also oversee BDC School, which operates three campuses in the Milan metropolitan area, serving over 600 students aged 0 to 18 from 35 countries.
Sportech Academy has partnered with Raffles Milano, one of the most prestigious fashion and design schools in the world, located in the heart of Milan. Raffles Milano is part of Raffles Education, a global education network listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Raffles Milano features a modern 3,000 sqm facility in the center of Milan, complete with state-of-the-art amenities, including three specialized labs (Photography, Fashion, and Product Design), a library, and multiple relaxation areas.
Program
The academic MILAN Design program is tailored for students aged 15–18 to explore or further develop their passion for design. No prior experience is required—only a keen interest and enthusiasm for creativity and innovation.
Earn 4 University Credits – ECTS

Participants can earn up to 4 University Credits, fully recognized by the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). These credits can be applied toward future studies at Raffles Milano or transferred to other accredited universities across Europe, making this summer program not only creative and inspiring but also a meaningful academic investment for the future.
Our educators from the esteemed Raffles Milano Design Institute are industry leaders with extensive expertise in interior and product design, ensuring participants receive exceptional instruction and guidance.
Students will be awarded a certificate upon successfully completing the program.
⚠️ Since the instruction is entirely in English, a minimum B1 proficiency level is recommended to ensure full engagement.
There are two courses available: Product Design and Interior Design. Students can select one course to attend for a week or combine both for a two-week program that provides a complete and well-rounded experience in design.

Immerse yourself in the process of product design, focusing on functionality, aesthetics, and user experience. This week’s highlights include:
- Introduction to Product Design: Start with key concepts and a brainstorming session to generate innovative ideas.
- AI-Driven Innovation: Use AI software to develop product concepts.
- Graphic Design Skills: Learn techniques for detailed sketches and visual representations.
- Prototyping Projects: Transform your digital ideas into tangible creations using basic materials and modeling tools.
2. Interior Design
Creating Inspiring Spaces
Available: July 5–July 11 and July 19-July 25
Explore the essentials of interior design, focusing on color, light, space, balance, and proportion. Over the week, participants will:
- Introduction to Interior Design: Kick off with core concepts and a brainstorming session to spark creativity.
- Idea Development: Brainstorm and develop creative concepts for interior spaces.
- AI in Design: Learn to use AI software to generate and customize interior images.
- Hands-On Projects: Develop mood boards, select materials, and create detailed interior design projects.

Accommodation
Aparto Ripamonti Residence
Verbalists students will stay at the newly built and modern Aparto Ripamonti Residence, located in the heart of Milan. This residence offers outstanding facilities and is ideally situated next to Scalo Porta Romana, Milan’s emerging “smart” business district, with excellent connectivity to the city center. It is also less than a 15-minute walk from renowned institutions such as Bocconi, IED, NABA, and Domus Academy, and just a 10-minute bike ride from Unimi, Cattolica, and IULM.
Arrival: Sunday; Departure: Saturday > This is a 24/7 immersive experience, with accommodation and full-board included throughout the program.

- Individual studio rooms: Each student will have their own private studio.
- En-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes: All rooms come with a private bathroom and fully equipped kitchenette.
