Looking for the best Spanish courses in Spain? Malaga, the sun-drenched city on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is more than just a beautiful destination – it is the perfect place to master the Spanish language while experiencing Andalusian culture. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, our long-term partners at Malaca Instituto, one of Spain’s most prestigious language schools, provide world-class education in an inspiring setting.
Why Choose Malaga?

With approximately 300 days of sunshine per year and an average annual temperature of 23°C, Malaga offers a warm and welcoming environment for Spanish learners all year round. The surrounding mountains shield the city from harsh winter winds, while the summer heat remains pleasantly moderate.
Malaga boasts stunning beaches along the Costa del Sol, tree-lined boulevards, and lush parks with tropical flora, creating the perfect setting for leisure and outdoor activities. The locals’ friendliness and openness encourage students to speak Spanish in everyday interactions, making immersion effortless.
The city’s historic center is a maze of charming, winding streets filled with tapas bars and traditional Spanish restaurants. Architectural marvels such as the Malaga Cathedral and the Moorish Alcazaba fortress add to its rich cultural tapestry, while theaters, concert halls, and galleries—including the Picasso Museum – highlight its artistic scene.
As the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas, Malaga is an ideal destination for those passionate about Spanish language, culture, gastronomy, and entertainment.
The phrase Andalucía – sólo hay una rings true here, where flamenco, Spanish guitars, breathtaking landscapes, and deep-rooted traditions create an unforgettable experience.

Courses
Spanish courses at Malaca Instituto are designed to match your pace and skill level. They are offered in international classes of 7 to 10 students, where every participant’s engagement and motivation drive rapid progress. Beyond building vocabulary and mastering grammar, the focus is on boosting your speaking confidence.
On the first day, you will take a diagnostic test to ensure you join the right level.
Each week, you will attend classes in either the morning (8:30–12:30) or the afternoon (16:00–20:00), while selecting one of the following courses:
• Intensive Course – 24 Spanish lessons per week
• Super Intensive Course – 30 Spanish lessons per week
Intensive and Super Intensive courses include a special feature called Dimelo, where you practice speaking in small groups of 4 to 6 students. This method allows instructors to give personalized attention to each student.
Classes begin every Monday for all levels except absolute beginners, who have dedicated start dates throughout the year. Programs for absolute beginners start on: January 6 and 20; February 3 and 17; March 3, 17, and 31; April 7, 14, 21, and 28; May 12 and 26; June 9, 16, and 30; July 14 and 28; August 4 and 18; September 1, 15, and 29; October 13 and 27; November 10 and 24; and December 8.
DELE Exam Preparation
The DELE Exams are the officially recognized examinations in Spanish as a Foreign Language, organized by the Instituto Cervantes. The exams are structured to assess the content of each level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
The most frequently requested level is B2 (similar to the Cambridge First Certificate in English), as it is generally accepted as the minimum requirement for studying in Spanish at the university level or working effectively in a Spanish-speaking environment.

Taking into account the most commonly requested levels, the school offers specific preparation courses for A2, B1, and B2. The A2 course lasts 2 weeks, while B1 and B2 courses last 4 weeks. These exam courses are designed to help students who already have the required level in Spanish successfully pass the exam. The courses focus on exam content and question formats, frequently using past exams as practice tests. Preparation for other levels may sometimes be arranged by adding One-to-One lessons to an Intensive course.
Students often enroll in an Intensive course first to reach the required level for the exam before taking the exam preparation course. It is common for students to book programs of 16-20 weeks or longer to fully prepare. Those who are not beginners will receive a level test to help determine how many weeks of intensive Spanish may be needed before starting the specific exam course.

MASTER CLASS – CLUB 50+
The program is designed specifically for individuals aged 50 and above, drawing on over 20 years of experience and having welcomed more than 4000 participants. It offers 15 lessons per week, each lasting 50 minutes, focusing on “everyday” Spanish. It is designed for practical language use, with an emphasis on situational Spanish rather than structural grammar.
Participants will learn and practice Spanish for common daily scenarios such as going to the market, ordering food and drinks at a restaurant, introducing themselves, asking for directions, and visiting the doctor. The program is open to all levels, though most participants are in the Beginner to B1 range.
In addition to the language lessons, there is a specially designed cultural and social activity program tailored to this age group. After classes, participants can enjoy free time to explore the historic center of Malaga or unwind at the beach-front restaurants in Pedregalejo, all while making new friends and experiencing the local culture.
Leisure and Excursions
In addition to regular Spanish classes, Malaca Instituto organizes a wide range of activities and excursions that let you explore Spanish culture, make new friends, and have a great time. These optional activities are available for an extra fee directly at the school.

Andalusia awakens all your senses. The region’s beauty has inspired writers like Lorca and Hemingway, who captured its landscapes, charming cities, winding alleys, and warm people. This is the land where legendary figures like Don Juan and Carmen were born and where flamenco first emerged as a passionate folk dance. Feel the soulful guitar, experience the taste of local wine and olives, and embrace the spirit that defines Spain’s cultural heritage.
Weekend trips are unforgettable. Picture yourself sharing stories in a tapas bar, learning how to prepare traditional dishes like gaspaçio and tortilla, or refining your flamenco moves. For the adventurous, there are opportunities for kayaking, hiking, exploring caves, or engaging in sports like fitness, jogging, tennis, and even skiing during winter on the slopes of Sierra Nevada.
After your exciting experiences in Malaga, you will understand the true meaning of “duende” – that magical, inexplicable force that Spaniards feel but cannot define. As Lorca described it, “Duende is seen on a dancer’s body, like the wind on the sand. People instinctively recognize it the moment it appears.” Embrace the magic of Andalusia!
Below are the approximate additional charges for full-day excursions, which include transportation, a tour guide, and entrance fees:
