Our active VALENCIA – Summer Getaway students just wrapped up their first week, and what a ride it has been! From Spanish classes to sunsets and surfing, it is all happening in Spain’s sunniest city.
13-JUL-2025 | It all started on the cozy terrace of Españolé IH Valencia, where our students gathered for their first briefing. With palm trees swaying in the breeze and cold drinks in hand, they got the lowdown on the exciting week ahead. Instructions delivered, groups formed, and friendships already kicking off.
The mornings are for Spanish classes — and the afternoons? That is when Valencia comes alive. After day one, students explored their new city with a guided tour through historic plazas, epic buildings, and those narrow little streets full of character.
What better way to settle into Spain than sharing a giant, sizzling paella with your crew? The group shared laughs, stories, and maybe even busted a few dance moves before dessert.
Highlights of the week? The stunning Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas, with its detailed baroque facade that looked like something straight out of a movie. Everyone was snapping pics and soaking in the history.
Speaking of pics — the photo contest at the City of Arts and Sciences turned into a real showdown of creativity. No filters needed with that kind of background!
Then came the golden moment: a peaceful sunset boat ride through La Albufera. Just minutes from the city, it felt like we had entered another world — calm waters, dreamy skies, and the perfect close to the day.
Oh — and yes, some of our students even tried surfing on Valencia’s famous beaches. Not everyone stayed upright, but the laughs and wipeouts were worth it.
Throw in a few beach volleyball matches, spontaneous karaoke nights, and a whole lot of Spanish practice… and you have a week to remember.
And this is just week one.
