Founded in 1974, David Game College is regarded as one of the leading private colleges in London. This dynamic and innovative school is located in the heart of London, offering a beautiful view of Westminster and the River Thames.

Just a few minutes from the Houses of Parliament and the largest observation wheel in the world, the London Eye, on the South Bank, the college occupies a purpose-built facility equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Students are situated in the very center of the city, in close proximity to numerous educational and entertainment opportunities.

English classes are held at the Kensington Academy of English (KAE), which is part of David Game College and located in the same building. This Academy was established in 1978 and is considered one of the most prestigious in the UK for teaching English. It is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK, which means the school is continuously assessed and meets very high standards.

Accredited by Ofsted, this school currently holds an “outstanding” rating in all categories. In recent years, David Game College has received numerous awards, including special recognition at the “Independent School of the Year Awards” for the 2020/21 academic year. It is also worth mentioning the prestigious title of Boarding School of the Year and the “Special Judges’ Award for Independent School of the Year.”

The My LONDON program is the ultimate language experience, designed for students ages 16+. Every morning, students attend school to study a General English course with 20 lessons per week. In the afternoons, students enjoy unique city excursions and activities around London. Weekends are reserved for exciting half-day and full-day excursions to Brighton, Oxford, or Cambridge, as well as for rest and shopping.

Before arriving at the school, Verbalists Language Network participants complete an online test to determine their level of English.

Our experienced Verbalists Language Network travel guide will be there with you to help you practice your English language skills and experience the real London. ⚠️ Students aged 16 and 17 must at all times remain with their group and be accompanied by a group leader, unless prior permission has been granted. They are also not permitted to leave the school or accommodation premises independently without such permission.

The David Game College approach to teaching and learning a language is ‘Learner Centered’. This means that the school focuses on the needs, interests and aims of each student, and plan the content of the course on the basis of this information.

Learners are encouraged to participate actively in the process of learning and acquiring the new language, while learner independence is constantly promoted. All school teachers are experienced, native level English speakers, and many are qualified to Masters level.

Furthermore, they were trained by partner colleges to assess, analyze and counsel a student; they also underwent Inspections & Inspector Training Course organized by EAQUALS (European Association of Quality Language Services).

Dedicated Guide Option: Activities & Excursions

After breakfast, our group leader takes our students on exciting language travel adventures. You will explore the depths of secret London and wander around the top London museums and attractions.

London’s galleries and museums are incredible and some of them are free! There are over 100 free things to do in London: museums, art galleries, markets, parks and famous landmarks, so even if you think London is expensive, with the Verbalists guide you don’t need to spend much money while enjoying London.

Accommodation

Participants stay in residential accommodations that are exceptional in many ways, primarily due to their fantastic location and hotel-level quality.

Superior room at David Game College, Verbalists

Single rooms are part of two- or three-bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens. Each room has a private or semi-private bathroom (shared with a resident from another room), while the living area is shared with one or two other residents. The bedroom features a built-in desk, chair, comfortable small double bed with a memory foam mattress, wardrobe, storage space, and underfloor heating.

Towels and bed linen are provided by the residence (you may bring an extra towel from home if you wish). Common areas (kitchen and showers) are cleaned several times a week, and bed linen is changed every two weeks for students staying in the residence for more than two weeks. If any student needs to wash and dry their clothes, towel, or bed linen, they are free to use the washing machines located in the basement.

Dining

Enjoy a diverse menu served in the school canteen. The meals cater to various tastes and needs, with affordable prices for cooked dishes, sandwiches, and beverages. Large hot meals, such as salmon with rice, lasagna, or Korean beef with sides, cost around £8.00 or £9.00. Smaller meals, like sandwiches or salads, are priced at £4 or £5.

Participants are responsible for purchasing their own food. Our manager, Rada, personally experienced the delicious offerings in the school restaurant and shared her insights in the following video:

⚠️ Important Note: Since this is a dynamic language trip designed for adults, arrangements have been made with the school for accommodation on a room-only basis.

Years of experience with this type of program have shown that this is by far the best and most cost-effective option. Our students do not have to return to their accommodation at a specific time during their excursions and activities outside London due to pre-paid meals and set meal times. On the other hand, the option to use the excellent school restaurant and canteen is available when it suits them, at affordable prices. Additionally, there is a kitchen on each floor of the residence where meals can be prepared.

Travel insurance
Local transportation, any excursions outside of London, and entry tickets to tourist attractions are not included in the price. Due to the school’s and accommodation’s excellent central location, most sightseeing can be done on foot. A weekly city transportation pass costs around £50. Transportation by bus or train for full-day or half-day trips to places like Oxford, Cambridge, or Brighton is approximately £25-40.
