Kings New York is located in Riverdale, a safe and affluent part of the Bronx in New York, just a 30-minute subway ride to the center of Manhattan.

The modern language center is situated within the renowned College of Mount Saint Vincent, a liberal arts college established in 1847 and one of the five oldest colleges in New York City. Not only does the university boast a rich history, but its splendid location, unique campus, and excellent learning facilities add to its appeal. Staying at Mount Saint Vincent College provides our young participants with an ideal opportunity to experience the charms of studying in America.

The classrooms are bright and spacious, and part of the university complex includes a library with computers, sports facilities, a gym, a school restaurant, a fantastic terrace, and excellent student accommodation.

Program

Age range: 16-25. The active NEW YORK program is for young adults who want to improve their English but still have plenty of free time outside of class.

Your classes will take place at one of the university buildings — a short walk from your accommodation.

You’ll receive 20 lessons (15 hours) per week of General English, with a focus on enhancing the four key skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Learners are encouraged to participate actively in the process of learning and acquiring the new language, while learner independence is constantly promoted. All school teachers are experienced, native level English speakers, and many are qualified to Masters or PhD level.

Prior to starting a course, you will take a placement test, so that teachers can assess your level of English and place you in an appropriate group.

Activities & Excursions

You will have plenty of free time to explore New York after your lessons. These experiences will reinforce the new skills you have been learning in class by allowing you to use your English in the real world.

Excursions:
The program includes one organized full-day trip per week, with round-trip travel included. Typical destinations are:

  • Manhattan – bus tour
  • Top of the Rock and Macy’s
  • Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park
  • Statue of liberty and Ellis Island

Enhance your program with optional excursions available on a pay-as-you-go basis. These can be booked directly at the center and are subject to availability.

Residence Accommodation on Campus, College of Mount Saint Vincent

Enjoy a comfortable stay on the secure and picturesque campus of the University of Mount Saint Vincent, located in Riverdale—a leafy, upscale neighborhood just 30 minutes by train from Manhattan.

Nestled in the vibrant and culturally rich area of Riverdale, the campus boasts breathtaking views of the Hudson River. Facilities include an on-site dining hall, a cozy student lounge, a state-of-the-art indoor athletic center, a scenic soccer field, and a variety of other sports courts and pitches.

You’ll be accommodated in twin rooms equipped with air conditioning, sharing modern bathroom facilities typically with 6-8 other students.

The price includes

English language course (15 hours per week), non-refundable enrollment administrative fees ($175), residential accommodation with half-board meals (breakfast and lunch daily), full-day excursion once per week into Manhattan, at least two afternoon or evening activities per week, accommodation/meals as described in the price list, textbook and complete teaching materials, diagnostic test at the beginning of the course, and a certificate upon course completion, as well as access to the excellent Kings online English language learning platform.

The price does not include

Registration $80, airfare and related airport taxes, airport transfers, local transportation in New York, travel health insurance.
