Madrid is not the kind of city where you “visit” Spanish. You step into it. The language is everywhere: in neighborhood cafés, in the metro, in the rhythm of late lunches and lively evenings, in the small daily exchanges that quickly become your best practice. That’s why Madrid works so well for Spanish courses.
Why Spanish Courses in Madrid?
Madrid is Spain’s cultural and social heart. It’s a city that moves fast but still feels human, where you can spend your morning in class and your afternoon walking through Retiro, visiting the Prado, or simply listening to real Spanish around you in markets and plazas.
For language learners, that matters. The best progress usually happens when the city itself keeps pulling you into communication. Madrid does that naturally. It offers the intensity of a real Spanish-speaking environment, but also the comfort of a modern European capital that’s easy to navigate, welcoming to internationals, and full of cultural life.
Once you’ve chosen Madrid, the next step is choosing the right school.
School
don Quijote and Enforex are two well-known Spanish language school brands owned by the same organization: Ideal Education Group. What started in 1986 as a language travel agency has evolved into an international network of 32 schools across 13 destinations in Spain and Latin America, supported by 8 summer camps for young learners.
At Verbalists (Verbalisti), part of the PRODIREKT Group, we have represented don Quijote / Enforex for more than 20 years, and when their teaching standards are paired with our advising expertise and global reach, your Spanish course becomes a carefully planned learning experience from start to finish.
The Madrid school is set in a beautifully renovated historic building in the central university district, close to Plaza de España and Gran Vía, with excellent access to public transport and plenty of cafés, cultural spaces, and student-friendly spots nearby. Address: Calle Duque de Liria, 6, 28015 Madrid
The center offers a large and lively learning environment, with 38 classrooms, a library and multimedia facilities, computer access, Wi-Fi, and comfortable common areas. That size matters because it creates a lively international atmosphere — you are constantly surrounded by other learners, which makes Spanish feel social, not isolated.
don Quijote / Enforex is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, a respected quality standard that confirms strict academic and operational criteria, including qualified teaching staff and continuous professional development.
Classes are taught by carefully selected native Spanish-speaking teachers with university degrees (often with specialized training in teaching Spanish as a foreign language), and they regularly participate in ongoing professional development.
Now that you know where you’ll be learning, let’s move to the most important part: the programs and how the course formats differ.
Spanish Programs
The method is practical and communication-driven. From the first week, students are encouraged to speak, interact, and use Spanish actively. The goal is not only to “understand Spanish,” but to use Spanish with confidence in real situations.
All adult Spanish courses follow the same logic: a strong core program, with options to add more guided speaking and structured practice depending on how fast you want to progress.
Intensive 20
Intensive 20 is the classic format and the most popular option for adult students.
It includes 20 lessons per week, and it’s designed to build a solid foundation in all key skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with a strong emphasis on practical communication.
This course is ideal if you want real progress while still leaving time to enjoy the city. Madrid makes that easy. After class you can explore neighborhoods like Malasaña or La Latina, visit museums, take day trips, or simply practice Spanish in everyday life without feeling rushed.
If you want a balanced course that still feels intensive, Intensive 20 is usually the best starting point.
Intensive 25
Intensive 25 is the next step for students who want more guided speaking and faster results.
It includes the same 20 core lessons, plus 5 additional sessions per week. These extra sessions are built to reinforce and activate what you learn in class, often through practical conversation work and cultural themes that help you speak more naturally and comfortably.
Many adult students like this format because it adds intensity without making the week feel overwhelming. You get more structure, more speaking time, and more correction, but you still have room to experience Madrid outside school.
Super Intensive 30
Super Intensive 30 is the strongest option for students who want to maximize progress in a short period.
It typically combines:
- the full Intensive 20 course,
- additional workshops that expand vocabulary, speaking fluency, and real-life communication,
- and extra smaller-group sessions for more personalized practice.
The advantage here is clear: you still have the strong group course foundation, but you also gain more speaking time and more correction, especially during the semi-private sessions. That extra attention tends to improve fluency and accuracy faster.
This is often the best option for adult students who are very motivated, short on time, or preparing for a goal where Spanish needs to become functional quickly.
DELE Exam Preparation Courses
(Official Spanish Diploma)

If you want an internationally recognized certificate, the DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the most widely accepted official option. DELE diplomas are administered through the Cervantes Institute system and recognized globally by universities, employers, and institutions.
don Quijote / Enforex offers two DELE preparation formats for adult learners. Both focus on exam structure, strategy, and practice with the exact skills required for DELE success — the key difference is whether you want preparation only, or preparation plus a broader language-building foundation.
Let’s make it simple:
DELE Preparation 20 (20 classes/week)
This is the direct exam-focused option.
The course includes 20 group DELE preparation classes per week, typically offered in blocks designed to prepare you for an upcoming exam session.
Instead of a general Spanish course, the entire schedule focuses on DELE tasks and exam techniques. Students work on:
Reading and listening exam formats, the way DELE questions are built, and how to manage time effectively. Writing tasks are trained step-by-step, so your texts follow the structure examiners expect. Speaking practice is systematic: you learn how the oral exam is organized, what type of answers score well, and how to speak with control under time pressure.
This option works best when you already have a reasonably solid level and want a structured plan to convert your Spanish into exam performance.
Students can also add private DELE lessons if they want extra personalized correction.
DELE Preparation 30 (20 Spanish classes + 10 DELE preparation classes)
This is the more intensive and more personalized option.
DELE 30 includes:
- 20 group Spanish classes, plus
- 10 DELE preparation classes, 5 of which are private classes
This structure is very effective because it combines two things students often need at the same time:
- General fluency building through the group Spanish classes (accuracy, vocabulary range, confidence)
- Targeted exam strategy and correction through the DELE preparation block and private sessions
The private DELE lessons are especially valuable for writing and speaking, because they allow the teacher to correct you in detail, identify repeating weaknesses, and build a strategy tailored to your exam level and your goals.
If you want faster results, stronger feedback, and a preparation plan that feels truly personalized, DELE 30 is usually the best choice.
Now that we’ve covered the program options, timing becomes important. DELE exams happen on fixed official dates — and planning around them can make your preparation much smoother.
DELE exam dates in 2026 (official calendar)
DELE exams run on official dates set each year. Not every level is offered at every session, and registration deadlines come early, so it’s worth planning ahead.
Here are the official written exam dates and deadlines for 2026 general DELE sessions:
- February 13, 2026 — Levels: A2
Registration deadline: January 7, 2026 - April 17, 2026 — Levels: A2
Registration deadline: February 25, 2026 - May 23, 2026 — Levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
Registration deadline: April 8, 2026 - October 16, 2026 — Levels: B1, B2, C1
Registration deadline: September 2, 2026 - October 17, 2026 — Levels: A2
Registration deadline: September 2, 2026 - November 14, 2026 — Levels: A1, B1, B2, C1, C2
Registration deadline: September 30, 2026
A practical note: the oral exam date may be scheduled differently depending on the exam center, even when the written exam date is fixed, so students should confirm the local testing schedule early.
Fun programs
Spanish & Flamenco
Taking flamenco classes in Spain is an ideal way to complement your Spanish courses. Flamenco is an internationally recognized art form that was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010.
Originating in Andalusia, flamenco origins can be traced back to the fusion of various musical styles by the gypsies who have propelled the preservation and dissemination of flamenco around the world.

The flamenco course in Spain will introduce students to the song, dance and music that make up this artistic expression. Discover the passion and wide range of emotions that are expressed by the performer through complex techniques of foot stomping and hand clapping.
The flamenco course is taught at an academy by professional flamenco dance teachers who will adapt to your dance level whether you have studied flamenco in the past or not. The content is flexible and can be adapted to students’ schedules and language level. There is a minimum of three students required to offer the course.
Students who sign up for flamenco dance classes are required to use appropriate attire. Flamenco shoes are essential for all participants and ladies must also dress in a proper skirt and leotards. These items can be purchased in the flamenco school.
Price: € 370 for one week
This fee applies to the elective Spanish & Flamenco program only and must be added to the selected course and accommodation option listed in the price list.

Now let’s return to the Madrid experience — because where you live matters just as much as what you study.
Accommodation
Accommodation is not only a comfort choice. It shapes your immersion, your daily routine, and how much Spanish you hear outside class.
don Quijote / Enforex offers three main accommodation styles for adult students, and each fits a different personality and learning goal.
Host family (Homestay)
A homestay is the most immersive choice.
Living with a Spanish-speaking host family means Spanish becomes part of your life in the simplest way: daily interaction. Meals, routines, small conversations, and everyday habits all become learning moments. Many adult students choose homestay because it supports faster improvement in listening and spontaneous speaking, especially in the early weeks.
This option is also popular for its stability. It creates a home-like rhythm, which helps students feel grounded while adjusting to a new city.
Student residence
A residence is a good option if you want comfort, structure, and a social environment.
Residences are usually a mix of international students and often include practical facilities and common areas. The atmosphere makes it easy to meet people quickly, join activities, and stay connected — without the responsibility of managing an apartment.
This is often the best fit if you like the idea of community, but still want your own space and routine.
Shared student apartment
Shared apartments are ideal for students who want independence and flexibility.
You share the living space with other international students, which creates a social environment and a natural rhythm of everyday Spanish practice. Apartments are usually simple and practical, furnished for student life, and allow you to experience Madrid more like a resident.
In Madrid, this option is especially interesting because neighborhoods really differ — living outside the tourist core often gives you a more authentic daily connection to local cafés, markets, and routines.
Hotels
If you prefer the privacy and independence of a hotel, we can help arrange your accommodation once we receive your specific request. Simply contact us with your preferences and submit a brief inquiry/application (non-binding), and we’ll then recommend the most suitable options — please note that due to the high volume of requests and the time needed for careful research, we are only able to provide hotel recommendations after we receive this formal inquiry. A hotel stay is an excellent choice if you want complete flexibility — coming and going whenever you like — without worrying about schedules or household responsibilities, while you focus fully on your Spanish program at don Quijote.

Prices
Arrival at the accommodation is on Sunday, and departure is on Saturday (by 12:00 PM). Classes begin on Monday.
Accommodation Guarantee Deposit: A refundable security deposit of €200 is required and will be returned at the end of your stay, provided there is no damage to the accommodation or its contents.
