Most importantly, Trieste is a very safe, clean and neat city, with mainly pedestrian areas in the city center, making it the ultimate place for a summer junior program in Italy.

The Italian language school Piccola Universita Italiana was founded in Tropea, Italy in 1993. The school has two boutique centers in Italy, both in superb locations by the sea – Tropea and Trieste.

Program

The Italian Summer Camp is designed for young students in the age group 12 – 17. It is perfect for all language levels, including total beginners.
Italian language course:
4 lessons daily (each 45 minutes), 5 days a week
In the morning students will study the Italian language and culture in small groups with the aim to improve their Italian skills and make them fall in love with this beautiful language.
The Italian lessons are divided into 2 units of 2 lessons each, with a 30-minutes break in between. Each unit is executed by a different teacher. The first part is dedicated to grammar and the second part to conversation. Both parts are performed in a communicative approach.
Activities:
In the afternoon young learners enjoy a very diversified extracurricular program, offering everything students and parents may desire:
- Treasure hunts to uncover the city of Trieste;
- Evenings with guitar music and karaoke.
- Cultural field trips to discover the beautiful castles of Trieste (Castle of San Giusto, Castle of Miramare, Castle of Duino);
- Cultural field trips to UNESCO World heritage sites;
- Natural hikes to learn about secrets of the Karst mountains, Sports activities (Volleyball, basketball, dancing);
- Workshops in archaeology, history, music, science and art, held in museums and during field trips;
On the last day of program students receive a certificate confirming participation of the course.
Accommodation
The accommodation “Opera Figli del Popolo” is located in a neoclassic building in the so called “Borgo Giuseppino,” less than 10 minutes from Piazza Unità d’Italia and from the most important cultural sites. Nearby there are exclusive shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. The school can be reached on foot in about 5 minutes, please see here the map.
The students are accommodated in double or triple rooms and all have a private bathroom.
On campus there is also a canteen, a big sports hall, a smaller training ground gym, changing rooms for the gym, a self-study hall, a play room, a chapel and a garden.
Full Board (breakfast, lunch and dinner), including mineral water. Meals are strictly served under the Mediterranean diet.

Students are supervised 24/7, guaranteeing parents that their children are taken care of in the most appropriate way.
