Barcelona is often regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This lively metropolis, known for its art, passionate soccer fans, and music, is brimming with sights and experiences. From the awe-inspiring Sagrada Família and the whimsical Park Güell to the bustling promenade of Las Ramblas, Barcelona offers our active Spanish language learners endless opportunities to explore. And when you need a break, the city’s sandy beaches are perfect for relaxation.
The School
Our long-term partner for the active BARCELONA program is Don Quijote School, which is part of Enforex, the largest global network for Spanish language education. With over 30 years of expertise and 30 centers across Spain and Latin America, Enforex teaches over 12,000 students annually, catering to both young learners and adults.
All instructors are certified Spanish language educators. The school is accredited by esteemed educational organizations, including Instituto Cervantes, ELITE (European Federation of Associations for Teaching Mother Tongues), and FEDELE (Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners).
The Barcelona campus is housed in a spacious, three-story building covering 2,500 m², located in the heart of the city. It’s just a 15-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya and the famous Las Ramblas pedestrian zone.
Program
active BARCELONA blends structured learning, cultural discovery, and personal growth, making it a perfect choice for adventurous young learners eager to improve their Spanish while exploring one of Europe’s most captivating cities.
Classes, each 55 minutes long, are held in international groups with a maximum of 15 students per class. On the first day, students take a placement test to ensure they are assigned to the appropriate level.
The curriculum emphasizes communication skills, featuring role-play, discussions, and exercises in listening and reading comprehension. This interactive approach allows students to build confidence and fluency in Spanish.
After each lesson, the city of Barcelona will be your playground to practice what you’ve learned.
Activities and Excursions
Every afternoon and evening, students participate in a diverse extracurricular program designed not just for fun but also to practice Spanish in social settings. Activities include beach outings, swimming, beach volleyball, sightseeing tours of Barcelona, karaoke competitions, boat disco nights, and movie nights.
The program also includes full-day excursions on Saturdays to exciting destinations like Tibidabo amusement park, Sitges, and Tarragona.
Safety and Independence
Students are under 24-hour supervision by school staff during classes, meals, and activities. However, as part of the active program, students are given the freedom to manage their free time independently, taking full responsibility for their actions during this period.
Accommodation
Students are accommodated in residences located 20–30 minutes from the school, either on foot or by public transport. Rooms are shared (two to three students per room) and are fully equipped and comfortable. Meals are provided on a full-board basis (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Arrivals are on Sundays, and departures are on Saturdays. ⚠️ The program ends on August 15.

The program includes Don Quijote’s administrative enrollment fee of €35, a Spanish language course with 20 lessons per week, accommodation in shared rooms (2–3 beds) at the school residence, full-board meals, three afternoon extracurricular activities per week, one full-day excursion (or two for a four-week program), textbooks and all course materials, a diagnostic test at the start of the course, a certificate upon completion, 24-hour supervision, and travel insurance.
Not included in the price:
PRODIREKT registration fee of €50, airfare with applicable taxes, and airport transfers (the school charges €220 for a round-trip transfer).
