Munich Castle is situated on the green banks of the River Isar and in close proximity to the renowned Bavaria film studios.

German Language School (GLS) is a leading language school in Europe, boasting over 40 years of experience. Accredited by the Berlin Senate, Swedish Ministry of Education, and esteemed associations such as ALTO, EAQUALS, and IALC, GLS has been named the best language school in Germany three times by LTM Language Travel Magazine.

GLS is the only language school in Germany with a prestigious 9,000 square-meter campus, which includes luxurious accommodation, classrooms, a restaurant, and a luxury hotel.

For this program, the school utilizes the learning center in the Munich Castle.

Castle Campus and Bavarian Splendor

Situated just 15 minutes from Munich’s city center in a wealthy residential district of Munich, the 19th-century Burg Schwaneck castle offers a unique blend of history and modern amenities.

Facilities include spacious classrooms with a historical touch, 10 rooms with 4 to 5 beds, a knights’ hall, lounge, internet cafe, bowling, billiards, playground in the park, table tennis, and a cafeteria. This castle offers a secure and inspiring environment for language learning.

Program

The program caters to language learners from 40 countries, encompassing various proficiency levels: elementary, intermediate, and advanced. However, it doesn’t include absolute beginners.

Classes are held in small groups, with a maximum of 12 students.

The curriculum comprises 20 German language lessons per week, each lasting 45 minutes. Classrooms are designed to evoke the inspiring atmosphere of the castle’s medieval history.

Adventure Beyond the Classroom: After morning classes, participants engage in a myriad of afternoon and evening activities, including swimming, rafting on the Isar River, sports, excursions to Munich’s iconic landmarks, and cultural experiences. Evenings are filled with video projections, camping, or biking along the riverbank.

Group Leader and Supervision

During their stay at the camp, children are under the 24/7 supervision of experienced and skilled staff from the GLS Language School.

Accommodation and Dining

Accommodations consist of four and five-bedroom units with shared shower/WC facilities located in the hall, all within the castle premises.

Full-board meals are served in the castle’s cafeteria, providing a comfortable and convenient stay.

Program Dates and Pricing

The Munich Castle summer program runs from June 30 to August 11, with arrivals and departures on Sundays during this period.

⚠️  Early enrollment is recommended as GLS provides only 50 beds in the castle, attracting participants from 40 countries worldwide.

The price includes:

20 German language lessons per week, 24-hour tutoring by GLS staff in the castle, full board meals, accommodation in triple or quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms, 2 daily activities, 2 weekly excursions, 24-hour supervision by professional staff, document processing by the school (€30), and travel insurance (medical, liability, luggage).

Not included in the price:

Registration fees of €50, airfare and related taxes, as well as shared airport transfers (€80 each way, only available on Sundays between 8:00 and 22:00). Contact us for the price of private transfers out of schedule (Sundays 8:00-22:00).

Optional Unaccompanied Minor (UM) Service: Children aged 14 and above can choose to travel alone or have an escort during their stay at the airport, with the UM fee applied in the latter case. This choice is based on parental preference. The UM service is optional for this program and is separate from airport transfers (transport between the airport and accommodation). It involves airport staff and GLS school representatives taking responsibility for your child at the airport. Airlines usually charge €45 to €50 per flight, and GLS school charges a €100 UM fee.
