Our Verbalists take us inside their summer school in New York, from Fordham University’s green campus to Chelsea Market, Little Island, Hudson Yards and sunset views from Edge.
How does a summer school day in New York begin?
For Nika, Aleka, Jovana and Ana, it began with four girls getting ready together in their room. Choosing outfits, sharing makeup, fixing their hair and deciding what to carry. The usual preparation for a far from ordinary day.
The four Verbalists attended the New York Summer School, delivered by our partners at St Andrews College on the Fordham University campus, and decided to record one of their days for us. No formal tour and no prepared speeches. Just the places they visited, the things they enjoyed and the New York moments they wanted to remember.
First, a walk through the Fordham campus. It is green, peaceful and much larger than many people expect. There is plenty of open space, trees and lawns, while Manhattan is only a subway ride away. In fact, the campus is so large and well connected that it even has its own underground stop.
Then New York takes over. 😎
The girls headed to Little Island, the unusual floating park on the Hudson River, before stopping at Chelsea Market for lunch and a look around its shops. From there, they continued toward Hudson Yards and the Vessel.
And, naturally, there was shopping. This is New York, after all. Shop till you drop is not just an expression here, especially when four friends are exploring the city together.
By watching their great video, ❤️ it is easy to see that the highlight of the day was Edge. Colorful interiors, glass floors, the city far below and some of the best views in New York. They stayed long enough to watch the light change and the sun begin to set over Manhattan.
Then it was back to Fordham, carrying shopping bags, photos, videos and another full New York day behind them.
Their video lasts just two minutes. Their New York story, however, is only beginning.
