Our student Luiza Hellena from Brazil is currently studying English at our partner school IELS Malta, and her experience shows why Malta remains one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for adult students.
08-JUN-2026 | We were so happy to see Luiza enjoying her time in Malta and sharing her first impressions directly from the school. What made her story especially nice is that she did not just speak about her English course. She took us with her through the place where she is actually living and studying.
Luiza stayed in the school’s own residential accommodation, located on the top floor of the IELS school building. This gave her exactly the kind of comfort many adult students appreciate: her room, the study area, kitchen, laundry, common spaces, and classrooms were all in one place. She particularly liked the modern classrooms, but also the simple everyday convenience of being able to go from her room to class almost as naturally as walking downstairs at home.
Her short tour gave us a real look at student life at IELS. The rooms were practical and comfortable, the shared areas bright and welcoming, and the school itself modern, lively, and easy to settle into. Watching her videos reminded us why we have been proudly recommending IELS to our students for more than twenty years.
IELS is also located in Sliema, one of the most desired areas of Malta, close to the seafront, cafés, shops, and the everyday rhythm of island life. This is an area we know well and always enjoy returning to with our students during the summer.
And then, outside the school, there was Malta in May. Luiza’s visit to the Blue Lagoon gave us the other side of her experience: clear water, warm weather, people already swimming, and that feeling that after class the day is still wide open. You can only imagine what Malta offers during the summer, when the island becomes even brighter, warmer, and more alive. ☀️🏖️
