English Courses in Malta: Alexandra Sends Us Some Love from the Island ❤️

English courses in Malta are about much more than sitting in a classroom. Alexandra spent four weeks improving her English, exploring the island and, luckily for us, filming some of her favorite Malta moments along the way.

Alexandra, our student from Switzerland, spent four weeks in Malta taking an Intensive English course at IELS. Somewhere between classes, Valletta, beaches, rooftop views and those impossible shades of Mediterranean blue, she also found time to send us this video.

And yes, we watched it more than once.

For us, this is exactly what English courses in Malta should look like. You go there to improve your English, of course. But English very quickly becomes part of everything else: meeting people, ordering dinner, finding your way around, talking to classmates from different countries, and simply living in another language for a few weeks.

Alexandra studied at IELS Malta, one of our long-standing partner schools and one of Malta’s best-known English language centers. Her course was intensive, but not the kind of intensive that means spending the whole day staring at a textbook.

She particularly liked the fact that the lessons kept students involved: group work, discussions, role plays and small projects, with teachers correcting mistakes without making students afraid to speak.

As Alexandra put it:

“Teachers did not only correct my mistakes along the way but also provided valuable guidance to help me improve…and that meant a lot to me.”

That part matters. You can study grammar almost anywhere. The real progress usually comes when you stop translating every sentence in your head and simply start using English.

Then there is Malta… And Malta does make it rather difficult to stay indoors.

Alexandra explored Valletta, wandered through the old streets of Mdina, swam in the famously turquoise waters around Comino and the Blue Lagoon, and discovered plenty of other places that eventually found their way into her video.
